  1. You don't know much about investing if you are using historic returns for future returns. the 60/40 stock bond split is dead with negative real bond returns. You can expect 3%-4% long term returns given higher starting multiple and lower interest rates. You should expect to live off <3% of your investments or you'll really screw yourself.

  2. The video shows 285,000 initial investment. Where did that come from? If someone has that amount of money saved, then they’re already doing something right.

  3. I am 40 years old single mother , I am hoping to retire at 45 if things keep going well for me. Bought my third house last month and I can't be proud more that I am right now. I am so glad I made good decisions about my finances that changed me forever now I earn monthly

  4. If your husband plans to keep working then that should provide a reasonable safety net, but I'd be very careful retiring with $2 mm at a relatively young age. What you need to live on today or in 5 years will be a lot different from what you may need to live on when you are old, especially if you need medical care or long term care as many people do. The cost of an average nursing home today is about $100K per year. You have to probably double or triple that cost for the future. A lot of these retire early projections don't realistically anticipate this likely future cost.

  5. I know that you are going to reach your FIRE goals! BTW I also wanted to let you know that I am making a response video to this video of yours. Nothing crazy, just analyzing your FIRE plan from my perspective based on this video's content 🙂 Plan to release on 8/29/21

  6. Hi I’m trying to get on this Fire thing too. Ever since the covid break out I’ve been forced to find additional sources of income as I barely have time to continue trading and watching my investments since they barely cover the bills. Do you think I should take a break for a while from the market and focus on other things or return whenever I have free time or is it a continuous process? Thanks.

  7. Be careful. Some countries will let you buy land, let you build and then allow a native person there take your land from you. No joke. You can lose everything.

  8. I almost invest 10,000 of my local currency in dividend stocks only and bonuses are besides that so i am 300k invested in dividends stock. Getting rich from dividend is a long term strategy and only who had patience get the reward

  9. I wish I learned about the FIRE movement sooner! I’m 46 and hoping to hit our FIRE number in about 3 years. If the market has returns like the past 5 years, we’ll we’ll surpass it. If there’s a downturn over the next 3 years, we’ll probably need to keep working a while longer. My sister-in-law is 49 and was recently diagnosed with cancer. A stark reminder to enjoy our lives while we can. Waiting to retire at 65 just seems insane now.

  10. Just found your channel and really enjoy your videos. Do you have a playbook or game plan about your rental property strategies? 1 per year sounds great, but would like to know more such as: what markets to consider, property mgmt, especially when you’re going to relocate abroad.

    Thank you!!

  11. I am 28 now and would love to retire by 45 the latest. I make about 40k a year but feel so lost. I'm good at saving but am not too knowledgeable in investing. Doing the research necessary but I'm wondering if retiring at 40-45 is even realistic for me.

  12. Pretty much any company won’t pay you your current salary if you move to Africa…. In fact most won’t allow it at all for tax and regulatory reasons. Sorry to break the news…

  13. Great video, however, tons of people don't make the money you are making in order to max out two 401k's as well as contribute to everything else you are doing. On a good note, I am 36 years old and I am maxing out my 401k and my Roth Ira at this time. My wife is a teacher as will have a pension later on. Great info by the way, thank you!
