Dang, if these automations made it made I should submit some of mine lol.
Set me up one using node red that turns on the lights, uses android hass adb bridge to turn on my fire tv, set it to hdmi 3, and sets the volume 12. Then it uses the Xbox integration to turn on the Xbox, set it to Spotify, then launch a music visualizer. Hass turns on Hyperion reactive tv leds, and the Spotify API integration launches and shuffles my likes songs playlist. This all happens when I get home using hass geofencing.
Plenty more where that came from lol.

Just starting with Home Assistant. For now, I'm happy getting my garage door opener to announce on my Home Mini that its opening… can't see or hear the door when in the main part of the house.
I have my google set up for goodbye routine. Turns off all lights, turns off all smart plugs, turns off tvs, changes thermostat to away mode, opens garage door, turns all air purifiers on high, starts dishwasher if the door is latched, makes sure oven is off, and then says local traffic information and sets phones to do not disturb for driving mode.
Then when we’re on the way home it’s set for “we’re coming home” so it sets the thermostat to home mode to start cooling/heating the house so it’s comfortable when we get home, asks for oven preheat temperature, preheats oven if necessary, and broadcasts message for the kitties saying we’re coming home. When we get home the lights automatically come on and the air purifiers go back to auto sense mode.
Bedtime sets lights throughout the house to change to different colors/brightness, turns off tvs, turns off smart plugs, sets air purifiers to night mode (high with screens shut off), reminder if any laundry is still in either washer or dryer, says next days weather, asks for morning alarm time, changes thermostat to whatever we desire, then all the lights shut off after 20 minutes.
We also have lots of other automations that do different things depending on certain conditions. Have several nfc tags placed on side table by the couch to automate lights, surround sound, and fans. The tags are for different scenes like movie time, game time, cleaning house, bedtime, and nap time for my son.
We haven’t gotten our security cameras or video doorbell set up fully. They claimed to work with google assistant but not sure how. Everything is set up properly but we don’t get notifications or anything. Might be because we don’t have a display for them to project to yet.
Some awesome automations there and thanks for collating and presenting them, Doggie door is cool but maybe a bit too awesome for thieves too. Unless more weight then dog equals some other interesting things occuring 😉
Please a video on how to upload audio on alexa

From 2 days ago, I got an air purifier from Ikea, which I could connect with Google Home.
Once I'm away, I can ask my assistant how the air currently is, and then it says the current condition through the data from my air purifier.
That's really great, thanks for sharing. To the gentleman who created the music scanning system, what is the NFC reader you are using ? Looking forward to use one to give NFC tokens for access control the house. Thanks !
One "dumb" automation I did 20 years ago was buying one of those timers you put to your wall-socket and I put it to my coffee-machine. Since then I have woken up to fresh-coffee smell every morning.
Motley crew!!
I actually have a simple xiaomi vibration sensor attached to the bottom of my office chair. It turns on my displays when it detects somebody sitting and turns them off after a couple minutes when nobody is using it. Depending on the time of day the LED strip behind the desk turns on and off as well.

This video instantly cured my OCD. I feel completely normal in comparison to these submissions.
thanks for your video. can i know your whatsapp number, we can have cooperation.
Loved this video, I’m always on the lookout for new automation ideas.
The octoprint integration to Home Assistant is insanely useful, I use it (along with some plugins on Octoprint side) to notify as well as shut down my printer when the print is done.
I'm also using the National Weather Service integration in my Home Assistant to change the lights in the house based on if it's a tornado warning, severe thunderstorm warning, or flash flood warning. But I haven't setup my Alexa devices to announce the weather warnings or playing the EAS sound yet. That will be a great addition to my home automation thanks for the ideas!
Question about that Bathroom Timer automation. I see they are using a switch node in Node red, but what are the events that switch is looking for since you cant see the switch events in HA?
6:12 I got the exact same automation. But mine also sets the water mode on my Apple Watch at the same time. (:
that's chappie
WHOOOO LET THE DOGS OUT, WHOO? WHO WHO?
GREAT video!
Glad I didn't send in my 1 light automatically turning on when I walk in a room… These automations are amazing! I have lots of work to do.
with the 3d printing automation, could you announce it to a bt headset/hearing aids?
How or where can I get assistant relay please ???
The game controller one is pretty amazing. Any ideas how to achieve without actually spending a huge fortune?
Is their a way I can automate old style windows and set a routine that when the a/c goes on – the window closes and when the a/c goes off – the window opens? I would love if I could do it for my room…
where did u buy the bat signal
Very nice automations! I just don't understand the PS5 one… I don't think enough people know this, but clicking the home button on your controller already turns on the TV via HDMI if you have that enabled in the PS5 options.
Turning on the pc as well, could be useful, I just don't see how, at least for me xD
In general, it's an interesting video and I enjoy the channel. But why is it such a big deal ( 0:15 ) that these are from around the world? 95% of the world's population is not from the USA and, spoiler alert, we have internet, YouTube and Home Automation. Anyway, I still enjoyed the vid.
Hi Reed, nice video, hope to make a special video highlighting the automated gate and outside the home security pleasese
Thanks a lot
Because of your videos I started my home automation by very little things but will make it bigger in the near future
Greetings from Egypt
Octoprint makes that automation pretty easy. Excellent software! I don't think I've ever used my 3D printers physical controls for anything but tramming, power, and filament changes.
